OUR HISTORY

Old Fashioned Productions formed in 2013 as the result of both necessity and an unwavering passion for new original theatre.

As the story goes, unable to find a suitable company to present or develop his new musicals, Company Director Bradley McCaw decided to do the unthinkable. He would start his own company. He would build an Australian home for new original musicals.

What began with a small private workshop, featuring local Brisbane artists, grew into partnerships with large state organisations. As the company grew, both artistically and organisationally, working with leading artists around the country, unexpected new works were created. Old Fashioned Productions’ body of work expanded into original cabarets, stage plays and works for children. Eventually podcast series and studio cast recordings. All this was born of a love for the theatre and new musicals.

To date Old Fashioned Productions has worked with some of the country’s leading organisations including the Queensland Music Festival, Home of The Arts (Gold Coast), Australian Musical Theatre Festival, Chapel off Chapel, Judith Wright Centre of Performing Arts, Queensland Theatre Company, Homegrown, Brisbane Academy of Musical Theatre and New Musicals Australia. Our work has been seen on a variety of stages, from New York's 42nd Street, to regional schools throughout Queensland.
